Cooper 1kg Blue Nylon PWC & Jet Ski Anchor

The Cooper 1kg blue nylon PWC anchor is a compact, lightweight anchoring solution for jet skis, personal watercraft, kayaks, SUPs and small boats up to approximately 3.5 metres.

Its durable nylon construction and tip-weighted design help it dig into suitable seabeds while being far kinder to PWC storage compartments than a heavy metal anchor. The anchor-only option includes a stainless-steel shackle, with chain and rope packages also available.

Do I need an anchor chain?

For light use in calm, shallow water, the anchor can be used without chain when adequate rope scope is provided. A short length of chain is recommended where wind, swell or current may increase because it helps keep the pull more horizontal and absorbs some shock loading.

Understanding anchor scope

Scope is the ratio between the total length of rope and chain deployed and the water depth. As a general guide:

• Without chain: allow approximately 7:1 scope in suitable calm conditions
• With a short chain: approximately 4:1 is a practical PWC setup in suitable conditions
• For small boats: approximately 3:1 may be used with a longer chain, subject to the conditions and seabed

Important safety information: Anchor holding depends on seabed type, water depth, weather, tide and current. Always assess conditions, use adequate rope and chain, and never rely on a small PWC anchor in unsafe or severe conditions.
